Heavy rain fell again during Friday, Jan. 21, across the region and the National Weather Service has posted a flood warning for the Cedar River and Green River.
Due to heavy rain overnight and today the weather service stated the Green River is rising and is expected to crest over the flood stage during the night upstream from Auburn. There could be water over the Southeast Green Valley Road.
The Cedar River is also predicted to reach flood stage.
At 8:45 today the Green River was at 61.5 feet or 8,355 cubic feet per second. The weather service reports flood stage for the Green is 61.7 or 9,000 CFS
The weather service is warning drivers to not drive through flooded ares, which is the cause of most flood related deaths in the state.
