Calling pie bakers to the Maple Valley Independence Day Pie Baking Contest

The city of Maple Valley’s Annual Independence Day picnic is presented this year by Waste Management. The day is designed to appeal to families and will include a wide variety of fun and entertainment including the annual Homemade Pie Baking Contest.

The city of Maple Valley’s Annual Independence Day picnic is presented this year by Waste Management. The day is designed to appeal to families and will include a wide variety of fun and entertainment including the annual Homemade Pie Baking Contest.

All bakers (adults, seniors and youth) are invited to enter their favorite fruit pie in the annual Fourth of July Homemade Pie Baking Contest. Entries will be accepted at the pie contest tent at the Beach House at Lake Wilderness Park from 4 to 6  p.m. only.

Only berry pies accepted; there is no entry fee and top winners in each category will receive some very nice awards.

The best prize packages ever offered for this contest were donated by the following merchants: Rooters BBQ & Grill, Cedar Grill, Sports Clips, Cutters Point Coffee of Covington, Marble Slab Creamery, Safeway, Denali Spirit, and Pink Elephant Car Wash, U top It, Johnson’s Do-it Center, Janet Griffith Tupperware, and Gloria’s Restaurant.
