Two of the grass fires occurred in the 28600 block of Maple Valley Highway, one on Monday, Aug. 23 and the other on Friday, Aug. 27.

The fire on Aug. 27 was a 10-by-25 foot, which was extinguished by a Federal Express driver and a city building inspector using portable fire extinguishers from each of their vehicles prior to our arrival. Firefighters then checked the area to ensure that the fire was completely extinguished. The cause of the fire was undetermined.

At about 1:30 p.m. Monday Aug. 23 in the 27800 block of 256th Court Southeast we were dispatched to an aid call.
