Starting Monday night, July 28, WSDOT will begin nighttime work to remove the double white line that separates the SR 167 HOT lanes and general purpose lanes and replace it with a single white line so that drivers can enter and exit the SR 167 HOT lanes at almost any point along the corridor. Construction is scheduled for Sunday through Thursday nights (except Sunday, Aug. 3 – Seafair weekend and the big drag races at Pacific Raceways in Kent).
While the project is under construction drivers will see sections of single white lines, double white lines, and dashed lines. Please continue to obey the law not to cross double white lines, but when you see a dashed or single white line, you can cross it. The project is scheduled to continue for up to five weeks, depending on weather – since crews need the warm, dry weather of the best Puget Sound summer days to lay down the new striping.
