McCall is an academic realist painter. Born in New Mexico and now residing in Seattle, McCall began to show passion for art as a very young man. Formally studying painting, sculpture, and dabbling in the lowbrow art scene he received a bachelor of fine arts in visual communications with double majors in fine art and graphic design from the Northwest College of Art in Poulsbo.

A graphic design project led him to the books “Classical Drawing Atelier” and “Classical Painting Atelier” by Juliette Aristides, which led him into a figure drawing workshop given by Aristides, a cast drawing class with Atelier grad Susan Bari Price, and acceptance into the Aristides Classical Atelier located at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle.
