The Black Diamond Library is open during its normal hours, despite a nearby temporary road closure.
Roberts Drive, which leads to the library from State Route 169, is closed just west of the library because of flood damage to the roadway. The city road is still open for local access to the library from the west side, entering from the Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road, officials said.
Drivers will need to drive past the detour/local access signs. If heading northwest on Morgan Street, turn right onto Roberts Drive, past the signs. Directions have been updated on the library’s Web site at http://www.kcls.org/blackdiamond/directions.cfm.
Black Diamond public works director Seth Boettcher said Wednesday there is no exact timetable for completing repairs of the road and reopening it, but the project is expected to take approximately two to three weeks between permits being issued and final completion of work.
Managing librarian Catherine Lord said the library can be called for status on road access or any library needs and questions at (360) 886-1105.
