‘Summer Serenade’ performance by The Gateway Concert Band Aug. 16

The Gateway Concert Band will present the second concert of the summer, “Summer Serenade”, 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 16 at Rotary Centennial Park in Enumclaw across the street from the library. The program will feature director Jack Prindle playing a trumpet solo with the band.

The same program will be presented 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 23 at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Sumner.

These programs are made possible in part by grants from the city of Enumclaw, 4 Culture of King County and the Muckleshoot Charity Fund.

There is no admission charge, but a donation will be collected. Bring your own chair or blanket to sit. If the weather is too wet or cold, the program will be moved to the auditorium at Enumclaw High School. For information call 360-825-5369 or visit www.gatewayconcertband.org.

The Gateway Concert Band is a community band based in Enumclaw. It is directed by Jack Prindle. Formed in March of 1996, it has presented over 160 performances in its 14-year tenure; all of the band’s concerts have been free-of-charge. The band is open to any interested adult and competent high school instrumentalists, without audition. It rehearses on Monday evenings at Enumclaw Middle School from 7-9 p.m.
