It is beginning to look a lot like very hot weather.
The National Weather Service Web site listed the temperature at 6 p.m. as 95 with tomorrow predicted to reach 97 and Wednesday a sweltering 101.
The weather service released an excessive heat warning until Thursday with the prediction temperatures would drop to the mid-80s by the weekend.
According to the agency, high temperatures with high humidity combine to “create a dangerous situation in which heat illness are likely. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.”
The weather service also released an air stagnation advisory stating “the stable air mass aloft will limit the dispersion of pollutants across the area and may lead to deteriorating air quality.”
The Black Diamond Community Center will be open from 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. this week as a one of the King County cooling center. Call 360-886-1011 for more information.
