The Ensemble Ballet Theatre dancer will be preforming “The Nutcracker” in the December.

The production will be Dec. 4, 5 and 6 at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center.

Saturday at the Dance Expressions studio in Maple Valley the dances prepared for the performance.

The theatre group purchesed a traditional dragon for the performance.

David Mahoney and Stephen Griffith are the dancers in the dragon costume.

Mahoney said people from a local church came to the studio and taught the “real moves” with the dragon.

“It is martial arts based,” Mahoney said. “It is very important to them.”

“The Nutcrakcer” production is scheduled for 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2:30 and 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5 and 1:30 p.m. Sunday Dec. 6 at the Renton IKEA Performing Arts Center, 44 S. 2nd St.
