After exploring much of the Cedar River Trail, I came away with one impression: The trail is a great place to bike, take a stroll or just wander.

THE MAPLE VALLEY MUSIC IN THE PARK series continues tomorrow at Lake Wilderness Park with a performance by the Night Train Blues Band from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The four-piece band, headed by harmonica player and singer Gary Turk, plays Texas and Chicago-style blues. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be sold as a fund-raiser for Maple Valley Junior Football and Cheer.

Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra will host a free, two-day orchestra camp Aug. 20-21 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in Maple Valley. Participants in the camp, which is open to students with two or more years of playing experience on any instrument, will be introduced to music that will be played next season by the youth symphony.
