Ginger Passarelli Senecal’s reputation as a cook has spread far and wide.

Doug Neer has been practicing the craft of cutting hair in the Covington and Maple Valley area for more than 40 years. He has survived many ups and downs, but the shop keeps going and the hair keeps falling.
The biannual Fall Library Guild Book & Media Sale at the Maple Valley Library will run from 10 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 29 and from 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30 and from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 in the library meeting room.

The Maple Valley Youth Symphony Orchestra has plenty of reason to celebrate. In its short two years of existence, it has accomplished a great deal including growing from eight to over 60 students, becoming its own nonprofit organization and integrating itself into the fabric of the Maple Valley area by performing at community events like the Maple Valley Tree Lighting, playing at the Maple Valley Farmer’s Market, hosting a Waltz Gala Ball and accompanying the Fourth of July fireworks. Add to this year’s agenda playing the National Anthems at a Seattle Thunderbirds hockey game.
