Covington doctor ready to answer childrens health questions | Dr. Callie Byrd

I am very excited about this opportunity with the Covington-Maple Valley-Black Diamond Reporter to answer your questions every month, and to offer guidance on topics and issues that are important to you.

Hi! My name is Dr. Callie Byrd and I am a pediatrician at Valley Medical Center’s Covington Clinic.

I earned my medical degree from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio, and completed my residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. I have spent the past four years as a general pediatrician and for the past year have been at Valley.

I have enjoyed getting to know the people in Covington and Maple Valley and I look forward to practicing for many years in this beautiful area.

As a pediatrician, I am of course interested in caring for children of all ages from birth to young adulthood.

A large part of my practice is focused on preventative medicine: helping you keep your kids healthy by sharing lifestyle recommendations and also through education.

That’s why I am very excited about this opportunity with the Covington-Maple Valley-Black Diamond Reporter to answer your questions every month, and to offer guidance on topics and issues that are important to you such as breastfeeding concerns, helping your toddler eat better, advice about adolescent bullying, concerns about your teen and  social media — even when should your child stop seeing a pediatrician!

I am happy to address any and all questions so please ask away! Don’t have a specific question? I would also like to know your top three concerns about your child’s health.  Send in your questions and topic suggestions to AskDrByrd.VMC@gmail.com.

I look forward to hearing from you!
