Time for Rep. Geoff Simpson to retire from public life | Letter

Last week Rep. (Geoff) Simpson was charged by the Seattle Attorney's office with a gross misdemeanor involving domestic violence; this is not the first time he has shown a loss of control, quick temper and a lack of responsible and ethical behavior. Mr. Simpson does not deserve to represent the citizens of the 47th District.

Last week Rep. (Geoff) Simpson was a charged by the Seattle Attorney’s office with a gross misdemeanor involving domestic violence; this is not the first time he has shown a loss of control, quick temper and a lack of responsible and ethical behavior. Mr. Simpson does not deserve to represent the citizens of the 47th District. He should do the right thing and resign immediately from his position and leave political life. I am also shocked to see the Washington State Patrol Troopers Association endorsing Rep. Simpson in this coming election. I can only hope they will withdraw that endorsement based on this latest charge of domestic violence. The voters in the 47th District can do better. A vote for either of the other two candidates under our state primary rules will insure Mr. Simpson’s retirement from public life.
