In the past two months I have had two separate occurrences of theft to my vehicles at the Maple Valley Park and Ride and I would like to raise community awareness to this issue. On May 20 the catalytic converter was sawed off and stolen off my Toyota Pickup. I paid over $250 to have the converter replaced. On July 21 the my window was smashed and a GPS was stolen from my 2009 Nissan Murano. Estimates are putting the damage over $700. The two separate occurrences on two separate vehicles will total approximately $1,000 in damages. I have filed police reports for both occurrences.

The thing that scares me most about these separate events is that both occurred in broad daylight, on a busy highway, directly across from the police station. Police have informed me they are increasing oversight near the Park and Ride, but I’m concerned that isn’t enough. I’m also wondering who else has had their vehicles damaged and personal items stolen at the Park and Ride as this is an issue that at a minimum should be made aware to the community.
