The nonprofit Maple Valley Library Guild needs donations of books, DVDs, CDs and video games to continue its ongoing book sales and its two yearly book/media sales. The proceeds from book sales support library programming for children, teens and adults, including the Children’s Summer Reading program, children and teen events, and adult speakers and entertainers. To continue to fund these events, the Guild asks for donations of gently-used books in good condition, DVDs, and CDs. These should be left at the library front desk.
These books and media are sold for nominal fees ranging from 50 cents to $2, with the majority selling for 50 cents to $1. Not only do these sales enable library users to purchase a book for a couple of quarters, but they also allow community members to play a role in reusing and recycling books and media.
The Guild thanks residents for their donations and encourages them to visit the adult bookshelf at the library’s entrance, and the children’s book cart located at the back of the library near the hallway to the meeting room.
