As many of us know, we have a primary election coming in August. Yes, it is not too early to be thinking about this as many of the candidates are already door belling. I want everyone to know that Geoff Simpson, the incumbent, voted in favor of doing away with I-960. In addition, he proposed the sales tax be increased by one cent, to go to the state. I realize the state needs to find a way to balance the budget, but repealing I-960 is not the answer. If the state is in a real emergency, would it not be easy for them to secure a two-thirds majority vote? This will create a tremendous hardship for the individuals and small businesses in our community and the state at large. Nancy Wyatt, a new face on the scene and a major advocate for small businesses is a real candidate. She is someone you can sit down with and discuss issues and know she will support the 47th District and the citizens of the state of Washington. Now is the time, to remember, remember who is trying to get in to your pocket once again. Time to put new faces in Olympia to make us once again a profitable state.
