Much emotion and concerted effort has gone into political posturing and lawsuits by citizens of Black Diamond who seem to be in a panic over our master planned development.
I believe that there is consensus that the city should grow but disagreement over the rate of growth. A 100-year build out is more comfortable for most. Somehow they believe that if it is a 100-year build out they can preserve the small town feel better than if it is a 20-year build out. That is what a master plan is for. Our city’s comprehensive plan calls for preservation of 40 percent of land in open space and three community centers with a village feel instead of a large central down town area.
Relax people. The city will only be built out at a rate that potential new families find it a wonderful place to raise a family and purchase a home. If they think current traffic is too much of a problem they won’t purchase a home here. It is self regulating.
