The so-called debate conducted by the (Greater Maple Valley-Black Diamond) Chamber of Commerce (July 16) was disappointing to say the least.

The questions were biased in favor of the incumbent and YarrowBay. No wonder YarrowBay was promoting attendance at their office.

Dave Gordon was willing to challenge YarrowBay’s huge land development schemes showing his sincerity in protecting and promoting the best interests for Black Diamond.

Dave Gordon has a primary, so the debate was especially important for him. He gets points for walking into the lion’s den and clearly stating his positions. The audience seemed to be made up of YarrowBay supporters, but Gordon stuck to his guns.

It was refreshing to hear a candidate firmly state what he is going to do and not carry on with a lot of generalities.
