Evergreen hospice looking for volunteers from area

Evergreen Hospice and Palliative Care serves patients and their families in all of King and Snohomish Counties. Many people still think of Evergreen as simply being in Kirkland and this is no longer the case.

Evergreen serves patients and their families in your neighborhood.

The next volunteer education series is scheduled for 8 a.m.-5 p.m. July 9, 10, and 11 at the Hospice Center in Kirkland.

After you have completed the training you will be assigned to patients and their families in your neighborhood.

To register, or for more information, visit our Web site www.evergreenhealthcare.org/services/hospice/hospicevols or call 425-899-1040.

Simply showing up and being present for a person facing a life-limiting illness can add to their quality of life. Our volunteers provide companionship, life review, light household help, respite and running errands.

As we continue to serve more patients in the area we also need to grow our volunteer base to support the patients and families.

The training is in Kirkland, but the volunteers are assigned to patients close to their own homes.

We are hoping to get enough people interested in volunteering that we can offer the training in various locations including Maple Valley, Covington and Black Diamond.
