For the first time in my life, I’ve gotten active in local elections because of the YarrowBay development plans for Black Diamond.

I’ve been talking to residents about Dave Gordon for mayor. More than a few people said they live here because they liked Black Diamond, and were astonished to hear of the massive developments planned for our community.

We all know that there is just no way to do the kind of scale and density YarrowBay is talking about and have it blend in. As a lifelong resident, I have already seen what large developments have done to change our region with regard to traffic, increasing taxes, etc.

This election is critical for our entire area, not just Black Diamond.

I’ve spent a lot of time with Dave Gordon and I know he will work as much as it takes to be a good mayor. I trust Dave to manage our city and services. He is our chance for a future that does not include drowning in Yarrow Bay’s taxes, traffic, and destruction of natural areas that need to be protected.
