As a strong supporter of Rebecca Olness, I feel compelled to write this letter on her behalf. Rebecca has been a Black Diamond City Council member for four years and she’s aware of the issues that face our city.
She has been a valuable member of our community serving on the boards of the Black Diamond Community Center, Lake Sawyer Community Club; and being an active community member by being involved in the Black Diamond Labor Days, Black Diamond 50th Anniversary Committee, Maple Valley/Black Diamond Chamber of Commerce, the Black Diamond Sons of Italy.
Change is coming to Black Diamond whether people like it or not. Our role as citizens is to encourage our city government to make sure this is a well-planned, controlled process. This may be one of the most important times for Black Diamond and it is imperative that we have strong leadership ready to orchestrate the growth process, and I think Rebecca is just the person to provide this leadership.
Rebecca recognizes the challenges ahead and is ready to face them head on. She has taken time to meet and spend time with as many citizens as she can reach. Her focus has not been just a campaign speech; but she has taken the opportunity to hear from the citizens and really listen.
