Sean Kelly unanimously reappointed to King County Emergency Management Advisory Committee

Maple Valley Deputy Mayor Sean Kelly was reappointed today to the King County Emergency Management Advisory Committee

Maple Valley Deputy Mayor Sean Kelly was reappointed today to the King County Emergency Management Advisory Committee (EMAC) as a Sound Cities Representative in a unanimous vote by the Metropolitan King County Council.

“Sean has brought a wealth of knowledge to the position since he also serves as Deputy Mayor of Maple Valley and as a Tahoma School District Safety Officer,” said King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn, whose council district includes Maple Valley. “I was pleased to sponsor his reappointment to this important position.”

“I look forward to continuing my work on the EMAC,” said Kelly. “I really appreciate Councilmember Dunn and the entire County Council for their continued support of me in this position.”

A lifelong resident of Maple Valley, Kelly has served on the City Council since 2011.

The Emergency Management Advisory Committee advises, assists, reviews, and comments on emergency management and homeland security issues, regional planning, and policies. They measure and prioritize core capabilities, and recommend homeland security allocations and work products to sustain and enhance preparedness and operational levels.
