It was all fun and serious pie eating at the Maple Valley Farmers Market pie baking contest Saturday.

Councilwoman and market manager Victoria Laise Jonas organized the contest.

There were three age divisions, youth – 17 and under, adult – 18-49 and senior – 50 and over.

The contest was for fruit pies and all the submissions looked worthy of winning.

The winners were:

Youth

First – Austin Emmons Blueberry

Second -Sarah Wheeler

Sassy Strawberry

Third – Grace Montgomery Nectarine, Strawberry and Blueberry

Adult

First – Rachel Atwood Blackberry.

Senior

First – Loretta Gommi

Apple Crumb

Second – Cindy Adsit Blackberry Rhubarb

Third – Cheryl Lanning Raspberry Blueberry

The prizes consisted of Maple Valley Farmers Market Bucks, buttons, trophies for 1st place winners and farmers

market bags.
