A STRONG BUT FAST MOVING PACIFIC STORM WILL BRING GUSTY WINDS AND
BRIEF LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL TO WESTERN WASHINGTON SUNDAY...THE
FIRST DAY OF AUTUMN.
THE STRONGEST WINDS ARE FORECAST TO OCCUR ALONG THE COAST AND IN
THE NORTH INTERIOR FROM WHIDBEY ISLAND NORTHWARD. WINDS OF 20 TO
35 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH ARE EXPECTED IN THESE AREAS SUNDAY
AFTERNOON AND EVENING. BLUSTERY WINDS OF 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS
TO 35 MPH ARE EXPECTED ELSEWHERE.
DECIDUOUS TREES STILL HAVE THEIR LEAVES AND WILL CATCH THE WIND.
SO THIS WILL BE THE FIRST GOOD WEATHER SYSTEM OF THE SEASON AND
WILL LIKELY PRUNE SOME TREE BRANCHES. LOCAL POWER OUTAGES OR
INTERRUPTIONS ARE POSSIBLE.
ANTICIPATED RAIN AMOUNTS OF 1 TO 2 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE ALONG THE
COAST AND IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH AMOUNTS OF LESS THAN AN INCH
ELSEWHERE.
MOUNTAIN SNOW LEVELS BY SUNDAY NIGHT WILL RANGE BETWEEN 5000 AND
6000 FEET. THOSE IN THE MOUNTAINS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR AN
APPARENT SUDDEN CHANGE IN THE WEATHER.
