Actions taken at Monday’s King County Council meeting

At Monday’s Council meeting, Councilmembers: --Proclaimed the month of January Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Month in King County. --Recognized the Refugee Forum of King County for its outstanding service.

At Monday’s Council meeting, Councilmembers:

–Proclaimed the month of January Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Month in King County.

–Recognized the Refugee Forum of King County for its outstanding service.

  • Unanimously adopted an ordinance establishing the King County Children and Youth Advisory Board (Substitute Ordinance 2015-0522.2).
  • Held for one week an ordinance relating to the composition and duties of the communities of opportunity interim governance group with respect to the communities of opportunity portion of the Best Starts for Kids levy proceeds (Substitute Ordinance 2015-0521.2).

Introduction of ordinances and motions for Committee action:

  • An ordinance amending King County stormwater and surface water management requirements to comply with state requirements for stormwater management and improve protection of water quality, aquatic resources, public health, safety and welfare (Proposed Ordinance 2016-0012). The ordinance was referred to the Transportation, Economy and Environment Committee for discussion and possible action.
