Tahoma senior Denham Patricelli earned his second state championship title in javelin at the 4A State Championship meet at Mount Tahoma High School in Tacoma May 29-31.

Patricelli crushed the competition, throwing 204 feet, 6 inches, with his nearest competitor back at 192-08.

Also from Tahoma, senior Danielle Agoh won the title in triple jump with a jump of 37-10.25.

Kentwood senior Sarah Toeaina came in fourth in the same event with a jump of 36-11.25. Toeaina also came in eighth in long jump with a jump of 16-10.25.

Tahoma senior Tucker Mjelde came in third in the boys pole vault event, with a height of 15-0.

The Kentwood girls 400 meter relay of Aurie Taylor, Bebe Thomas, Malea Munoz, and Zaria Jones came in third with a time of 48.87.

Also from Kentwood, junior Brandon Stribling came in third in the boys long jump with a jump of 22-11.5. He also came in 7th in the boys 100 meter dash with a time of 11.20.

Overall, the Tahoma boys team placed 10th and the Kentwood boys team tied for 19th with Camas. The Kentwood girls team placed 21st overall, tying with the team from Snohomish, and the Tahoma girls team placed 24th.

Kentlake sophomore Avalyne Peters finished eighth in girls high jump and her teammate Lizzy Reichlinger finished 15th in pole vault.

In other events, Tahoma, senior Claire Whiting finished eleventh in discus with a throw of 111-01 and senior Brock Eager came in third in shot put with a throw of 52-7. Junior Alexander Cielo came in fifth in javelin with a throw of 174-09. Junior Delaney Tiernan came in ninth in the girls 3,200 meters with a time of 11:15.9 and she finished 14th in the girls 1600 meters with a time of 5:11.51. Eager placed 12th in the boys discus with a throw of 145-04. Freshman Olivia Ribera came in 11th in the girls 200 meter dash with a time of 25.31. Senior Riley Campbell came in 15th in the boys 3200 meters with a time of 10:07.56. Freshman Kayla Contreras came in 14th in the girls 3,200 with a time of 11:25.00.

For Kentwood, sophomore Samantha LaRue came in 13th in the girls shot put event with a throw of 34-7.75 and senior Terence Grady came fifth in the boys 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.80 seconds. He also came in 11th in boys discus with a throw of 146-01. Meanwhile, sophomore Brittany Woke came in 12th in long jump with a jump of 16-5.25 and senior Treyvon Floyd tied for 10th with Bowen Amundson of Emerald Ridge in boys high jump.
