Calls for the week of March 2-8
• Mountain View Fire and Rescue emergency personnel received a call concerning an 8-year-old boy who had cut himself while playing with an ax at about noon March 6 near 176th Avenue Southeast. The emergency workers found the boy had a 2-inch laceration and he was dizzy and nauseous. The boy was treated at the scene and then transported to an area hospital by his grandparents.
• A man driving a Ferrari was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of the car at about noon March 7 on Lake Holmes Road. The car went off the side of the road and hit a tree. When emergency workers arrived on scene the driver was walking around and initially refused treatment. The passenger had obvious head injuries, but was breathing on his own. An airlift was requested. The driver decided to go to the hospital with lower back pain and cuts to the fingers.
The accident is still under investigation.
