Drivers traveling over Snoqualmie Pass next week need to plan for added travel time due to single lane closures and nightly closures for rock blasting.
The Washington State Department of Transportation and contractor crews will close Interstate 90 for rock blasting at 7:30 p.m. each night for about an hour from Monday, Aug. 18 through Thursday, Aug. 21. Eastbound traffic will be stopped at Gold Creek (milepost 56) and westbound traffic will be stopped at Price Creek (milepost 61).
Daytime and nighttime lane closures in both directions could cause delays for drivers between Denny Creek (milepost 47) and the Price Creek vicinity (milepost 65) Monday through Friday. Rolling slowdowns could also cause 20 minute delays for drivers Monday through Friday about four miles east of the Snoqualmie Pass Summit (milepost 56) around Keechelus Lake (milepost 61).
