Last Week of Maple Valley Food Bank & Emergency Services school supply drive

One week left to help local children start the school year equipped to learn.

School supply donations are needed by Aug. 17. Maple Valley Food Bank and Emergency Services fills new backpacks with new, grade-level appropriate supplies for preregistered children, grades K – 12. Registrations for about 600 packs are expected this year from families in Covington, Hobart, Maple Valley, Ravensdale and within the Tahoma School District boundaries. Community support is critical to meeting this need.

Go to www.maplevalleyfoodbank.org for a list of needed supplies and convenient, community donation drop off sites, including Bank of America at Wilderness Village, Maple Valley Fitness, Key Bank at Four Corners, Thrive Community Fitness, and Covington MultiCare.

You can donate Backpack Bucks, for the purchase of wholesale backpacks in Maple Valley, at City Perk Coffee, There Ya Go Espresso, or Village Coffee, or at Surfrider Coffee Company in Covington. Monetary donations are always welcome to support the bulk purchase of needed supplies. You can donate on the food bank’s secure website, Facebook page, or by mail at P O Box 322, Maple Valley, WA 98038.

Registration for School Supply Backpacks continues through Aug. 21 at MV Food Bank, 21415 Renton Maple Valley Road SE, during food bank hours.
