Bombers bring the big bats to tournament and bring home another title

Chalk up another tournament win for the Maple Valley Bombers 9U baseball team. The team won the Redmond Tigers Invitational Tournament July 17-18, for their fourth tournament win in six tries.

Chalk up another tournament win for the Maple Valley Bombers 9U baseball team. The team won the Redmond Tigers Invitational Tournament July 17-18, for their fourth tournament win in six tries.

During the tournament the Bombers went undefeated, winning four straight games, including earning a No. 2 seed after pool play.

The Bombers took advantage of their favorable draw by beating the Mukilteo Warriors 12-1 in the first game. Landon Laramore led Maple Valley, pitching three shutout innings and batting 3-for-3 with three RBIs. JJ Gerarden came in and closed the door by recording the games final three outs.

Next up for Maple Valley was the Redmond Boyz. Trace Halvorson tossed three shutout innings while helping his cause by collecting a pair of hits and three RBIs in an 8-0 Bombers victory.

In the semi-final game the Bombers won 12-0 over the Warriors with Adam Campbell on the hill. Campbell hurled for three innings and collected six strikeouts while Halvorson stepped up again at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Nik Hendrickson closed out the semi-final on the mound for the Bombers, throwing two scoreless innings striking out four consecutive batters to close the game.

In the championship game, Maple Valley faced Redmond again, crushing the Boyz 20-0 on 19 hits.

Bronson Burton pitched a no hitter. He threw three innings and struck out eight of the 10 batters he faced.
