The Valley Medical Center has completed development of a new primary and urgent care clinic in Maple Valley.

The clinic is located at 26458 Maple Valley-Black Diamond Road SE and will begin accepting patients on Monday, Aug. 4. The urgent care clinic is open until 8 p.m. weekdays and 4 p.m. on weekends for walk-in appointments or patients may call ahead to reserve an appointment.

A ribbon cutting celebration will be held Thursday from 5-7 p.m.

“For the providers that will practice in Maple Valley, this grand opening is really a homecoming celebration,” Shannon Markegard, DO, medical director for the Maple Valley Clinic, said in a press release. “All of us live in and around Maple Valley, and could not be more thrilled to start providing care to our neighbors in this community.”

The clinic includes private patient care suites, on-site digital x-ray imaging and fully integrated electronic medical records. The idea is to centralize patient care across the Valley healthcare system.

A public open house is scheduled for Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Members of the community will be able to tour the new facility, meet the providers and receive free health screenings.
