Stefan S. Olpinski was promoted to colonel in the U.S. Army Dental Corps at a ceremony held in Manhattan, KS on July 8.

He is the brother of Maple Valley resident, Anthony Haapasaari, a retired Army Reserves captain.

Olpinski is the outgoing officer in charge (OIC) of the Whitside Dental Clinic at Ft. Riley, KS and will assume command of the DENTAC at Ft. Carson, CO next month.

Col. Olpinski is a board certified prosthedontist and will be responsible for the training of nine Army dental interns at Ft. Carson.
