Tahoma High School’s Kyla Damerow, softball, was selected as the Maple Valley Reporter Female Athlete of the Week for May 3.

Q: What is your favorite subject in school?

A: Sports Medicine 3

Q: What other activities do you participate in?

A: I enjoy hikes and paddle boarding.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My mom has pushed me as a person and athlete and always supported me and has been the most help in my successes.

Q: Do you have a pre- or post-game tradition? What is

it?

A: Before every game me and my teammate always listen to the same song

From the sideline

In a 8-1 win over a division rival, Kyla threw seven innings only giving up 1 and striking out nine. Kyla was also productive at the plate with and AVG .750 going three for four with two singles and 1 double and one RBI. Kyla is a dynamic player both on the field and off the field. As one of the team’s captains, her leadership and demeanor prove to be remarkable traits that will carry her far in all she does in the future.
