Cameron Hoiland and Jordan Rourke each drove in a run as Kentridge baseball defeated Kentwood 2-0 in a North Puget Sound League Cascade Division game at Hogan Park at Russell Road on Monday night.
The Chargers improved to 2-3 in the division, 6-3 overall. The Conquerors dropped to 4-1 and 5-5.
Both pitching staff were solid in this one, scattering four hits apiece.
Ian Mcintosh, the starter for Kentridge, allowed one hit while striking out six in 3⅓ innings. Jaques Travers pitched three innings of relief and picked up the win. Nathan Anderson shut the door in the seventh to get the save.
Nick Musga started for Kentwood. He went 5 ⅔ innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out four.
Jackson Proctor went 2 for 3 at the plate to lead the Conks.
The teams played again at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hogan Park. Kenlake beat Mount Rainier High School 8-0 and Kentwood lost to Kentridge 3-7.
