The official first day of fall is less than a month away and local high school football teams have kicked off the 2018-2019 season.
The Tahoma Bears traveled to Auburn Thursday to face the Trojans.
Winning by two, the Bears recorded its first win of the season 19-17.
Auburn scored first with a touchdown in the first quarter.
Adding to its lead in the second quarter, the Trojans kicked a field goal and entered halftime leading Tahoma by three.
Scoring six in the third quarter, Tahoma managed to take the lead by three.
Both the Trojans and Bears scored in the final quarter of Thursday’s game — seven and six points, respectively.
The Bears second game of the season comes 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 7 when Kentlake comes to Maple Valley.

The Kentlake Falcons kick off its season tonight, Friday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. with a home game against Kentridge.
All home games for Kent School District teams are played at French Field.
The Kentwood Conquerors take its talent to Sammamish tonight, Friday, Aug. 31 for a matchup against Skyline.
