Local teacher named Teacher of the Year

Halee Webster, a teacher at Crestwood Elementary in Covington, was named teacher of the year as part of Ivar’s Restaurants 15th annual contest.

Webster was surprised Thursday with the grand prize of $500. According to a release, she was chosen after reviewing hundreds of nominations from students.

Webster’s class also received certificates for a kids meal at Ivar’s.

July monthly meeting next week
