- RIVER RESCUE: Green River. Firefighters and deputies from the King County Sheriff’s Office responded to a river rescue on the Green River at 10 a.m. When fire units arrived on scene one man was on the same side of the river as rescue personnel and he stated there were two more men on the river. Units found two men on the other side of the river that needed to be rescued. Emergency personnel created a rescue plan and launched two boats into the river to make the rescues. One man went to the hospital with minor injuries and the other two declined aid. This incident is still under investigation.
According to the report, three men were in a drift boat fishing on the Green River. The boat hit a log jam and the men were ejected into the water. One of the men went to the Green River Valley Road side of the river and the other two went to the other side. The man on the road side was able to make it to the road and asked a cyclist to call 911. Deputies arrived on scene and started a swift water rescue response with sheriff’s office marine unit and the Black Diamond Fire Department.
