As it has done for two decades, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB)will hold its annual Small Business Day at the Capitol, this year on Thursday, Feb. 1, at the Double Tree by Hilton Hotel Olympia.
House Finance Committee Chairwoman Rep. Kristine Lytton, Sen. Curtis King, and Jason McGill, Gov. Jay Inslee’s senior health policy advisor, are two of the confirmed speakers. Sen. Guy Palumbo will give the luncheon keynote address.
NFIB’s Small Business Days at the Capitol have become one of the most circled dates on the calendars of legislators and top policymakers.
Their purpose is to apprise small-business owners of the legislation currently circulating the capitol that will directly affect the operation of their enterprises and to remind lawmakers that small businesses are not smaller versions of big businesses but instead have different difficulties in remaining solvent.
NFIB’s Small Business Day is open to all small-business owners and costs $25 to attend. Registration information can be found on the NFIB/Washington webpage at www.nfib.com/washington.
