The White River High gymnasium was the place to be Dec. 6, as some of the state’s top wrestling teams – and a handful of highly-ranked individuals – gathered for a night of competition.
The four teams attending were the host, Enumclaw Hornets, who carried a No. 3 preseason ranking by Washington Wrestling Report; the Bonney Lake Panthers, ranked No. 6; the No. 12 Tahoma Bears and the No. 15 squad from Lake Stevens.
The Bears beat Bonney Lake, 61-14, they also won their match against Lake Stevens, 32-30.
Last year, the Tahoma boys placed first in the their 4A league with 158 points, according to their website.
The Bear’s next match is the Tri-State Tournament in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho at Northern Idaho College starting Dec. 15 and ending Dec. 16.
