Holiday show at the new Tahoma High School
Miracle on 34th Street directed and performed by the Tahoma Drama and Tahoma Performing Arts Boosters will begin next month.
Performances will be held Dec. 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9 in the new Performing Arts Center at Tahoma High School.
Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for children and $5 for those under 10 years old.
Black Diamond center collecting Christmas presents
Children may qualify to receive Christmas gifts through the “Share the Joy” program, available to low-income families with children up to 17 years old within the Enumclaw School District. Applications may be picked up at the Black Diamond Community Center, 31605 Third Ave (state Route 169) in Black Diamond.
Applications are due Nov. 27, but organizers urge families to sign up right away so elves can get an early start on shopping. Parents can pick up gifts from 3 to 6 p.m. on Dec. 20.
Giving Trees with gift tags will be available in the community at the Black Diamond Community Center, St. Barbara Catholic Church, Lake Sawyer Grocery, The Loft Salon and Spa and the Black Diamond Library. Unwrapped gifts should be returned to the Community Center by Dec. 11.

Community Thanksgiving dinner Sunday
The Black Diamond Maple Valley Kiwanis Club and the Black Diamond Miners are hosting the ninth annual community Thanksgiving dinner Sunday, Nov. 19.
Community members are welcome to enjoy a free home cooked meal from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Black Diamond Elementary School.
Live music and kids crafts will also be available.
Free Medicare event Dec. 2 in Auburn
The Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors is hosting a free “All Things Medicare” event Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Auburn Senior Center, 808 9th Street Southeast.
Doors open at 10 a.m. and the presentation runs from 10:30 a.m. until noon.
Medicare basics, open enrollment, Medicare Savings Programs and fraud will be topics discussed.
Coffee and light snacks will be offered.

Rainier Youth Choirs to perform on Christmas ship
The Rainier Youth Choirs group, Colla Voce, will perform on the lead boat of the Argosy Christmas Ship on Dec. 2.
The ship leaves the Leschi Marina at 2:30 p.m. and returns at 4:45 p.m.
The ship will make two stops where the choir will sing for 20 minutes. The first stop is Seward Park at 3:10 p.m. and the second stop will be at Madrona Beach Park at 4:10 p.m.
