Sign bridge installation closes lanes on I-5 near I-90 in Seattle next week

Starting next Monday, Dec. 9, late night drivers and early risers should be prepared for multiple nights of lane and ramp closures on Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle.

Starting next Monday, Dec. 9, late night drivers and early risers should be prepared for multiple nights of lane and ramp closures on Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle.

The closures will provide contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation with room to install a new sign bridge spanning all lanes of northbound I-5.

Closure details

  • Monday, Dec. 9 – Two of four lanes on northbound I-5 between I-90 and the Washington State Convention Center will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. The off-ramp to Edgar Martinez Way also will close.
  • Tuesday, Dec. 10 – Two of four lanes on northbound I-5 and one lane on southbound I-5 between I-90 and the Washington State Convention Center will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 11 – One of four lanes on northbound I-5 between I-90 and the Washington State Convention Center will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
  • UPDATE: Thursday, Dec. 12 –Two of four lanes on northbound I-5 between I-90 and the Washington State Convention Center will close from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
