The Tahoma Elementary, Middle School, junior varsity and varsity orienteering teams had many racers make the podium during the 2016- 2017 season and during the state championship race.
Orienteering is similar to cross country but racers also use a map and compass to find checkpoints in the woods and make it to the finish line.
In early March, two members Ben Brady and Jack Bruneel represented Tahoma on the Cascade Orienteering Club’s national middle school team at a two day national championship in Texas.
Their team placed second overall and Brady finished 13th and Bruneel placed second.
