This afternoon around 1:30 p.m. the Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety were called to the 24200 block of 249th Ave. SE to reports of a mudslide.

When crews arrived on scene, a home was found at the base of a hill. The slide had hit a large propane tank and detached garage causing damage to the single story home that was pushed down the hill.

The home was unoccupied at the time of the slide, the release stated.

Another unoccupied home was found at the bottom of the hill and did not have any damage, the release added.

The remaining homes located on top of the hill were not damaged but were evacuated as a precaution, the release said. Eleven people and four homes in total were evacuated.

No injuries have been reported.

A geologist from the State Department of Natural Resources was dispatched to the site to determine the extent of the slide and determine what the next steps are.

At the time of the media release, there was no report provided.

With the continued rain fall, warmer temperatures and melting snow, the likelihood of other landslides increases. Tomorrow also calls for strong winds, the release said.

• Have multiple evacuation routes planned
