Dr. James (Jim) Louis Gill
Dr. James (Jim) Louis Gill passed suddenly January 24, 2011. He was born July 5, 1935 in Seattle, WA to Frank and Edith Gill. He is preceded in death by his youngest brother Bill and his father, Frank. He is survived by his wife Barbara, his mother Edith, his brother Greg, his children Steve, Lori, Cheryl, Dave, and Tracy, 15 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Jim graduated from Roosevelt High in 1954 and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Washington in 1960. Jim practiced on Kent’s East Hill for over 40 years as a general dentist and several years as an orthodontist. He served as Chair of the Grievance Committee for the Dental Society for 2 years and volunteered many years helping troubled teens at Echo Glen, and providing for disabled children at Fircrest in Seattle. Jim was a passionate golfer and was dubbed “TC Boomer”. Over the years, he was a member of Meridian Valley Country Club, Lynden Golf & Country Club, and McCormick Woods Golf Course. He loved traveling, music, theatre, and fishing at the cabin. In his past, he fished commercially in Alaska, played semi-pro baseball and basketball, loved to ride motorcycles and snow ski, was a great tennis player, and he played the violin. More recently he dedicated many years of service to the Lions Club of Kent. A Celebration of Life was held on January 30 @ 2:30 pm at Fircrest Golf Club.
