Ballerina’s Beau rallied from far back to catch even-money favorite Mobius in the final strides Friday for a half-length victory in the Damon Carriger Bachelor Party Purse for 3-year-olds at Emerald Downs.
Benefiting from a perfectly-timed ride by Juan Gutierrez, Ballerina’s Beau splashed six furlongs in 1:09 4/5 on a wet-fast track and paid $13, $4.20 and $2.80. Brian Ramerman is the trainer for owners Walter Bell, E.C. Racing Stable and Mike Strickland.
Mobius, ridden by Inoel Beato, gained command past mid-stretch but was unable to hold off Ballerina’s Beau. Mobius paid $2.80 and $2.60.
U Can’t Tell Me No, apprentice Pedro Terrero riding, held third place and paid $3.20.
A Washington-bred by Heavenly Search, Ballerina’s Beau has been a consistent 3-year-old for Ramerman. The dark bay or brown gelding has a 2-1-0 record in five starts with earnings of $9,538.
Snappy Comeback, Memories Forever, Heza Witch Doctor, H K Jammer and Stelladelnorth completed the order of finish.

John Lindley, publisher of Parker’s tip sheet, continues to enjoy a fabulous season with his 4-year-old filly Bar Room Gal ($5). Claimed for $2500 last fall, Bar Room Gal improved to 4-for-6 at the meet with an easy victory in Friday’s fifth race.
Apprentice Pedro Terrero and trainer Frank Lucarelli notched back-to-back wins with Bar Room Gal and Thirteengoldhearts ($3.40).
Terrero rode three winners on the nine-race card, and his 60 victories are second highest ever by an apprentice at Emerald Downs. Terrero needs 11 wins in the final six days to break the apprentice record of 70 wins set by Cassie Papineau in 2009.
Montana-bred Mickeys Hot Corona shipped in from Lethbridge for a $40.60 upset in the nightcap. The $1 trifecta with 19-1 Mickeys Hot Corona, 17-1 Doctor Pav and 41-1 Jamin Ben paid $3,200.10.
No Flies On Doodle, a finalist for 2010 Top Older Filly or Mare at Emerald Downs, finished out of the money in a $29,500 allowance race Friday night at Remington Park…Ricky Frazier was excused from his mounts due to illness.
