Tahoma secures state bid, Kentwood falls short | Volleyball

The Kentwood Conquerors and Tahoma Bears played in the 4A districts tournament Friday and Saturday at Kentwood High School.

The Bears won its first match 3-1 to Olympia.

After that Tahoma moved on to the second round of districts and faced Curtis.

The Bears lost 3-1.

Tahoma moved to a loser out game Saturday aganist Todd Beamer.

The Bears won that match 3 games to 1.

On Saturday, in the final round Tahoma then had to face Timberline.

The Bears after winning that match 3-1 punched its ticket to state.

The first round of the state championship begins today, Friday, Nov. 13.

Tahoma will face Mead at 1:30 p.m. at the Toyota Center in Kennewick.

Kentwood

The Conks almost perfect season ended Friday when Kentwood lost its first round districts match 3-1 to Graham Kapowsin.

Kentwood moved onto a loser out match aganist Mount Rainier where it won 3-0.

After the first two rounds Friday, Kentwood moved onto a loser out match against Puyallup Saturday.

The Conks lost that one 3-1, ending its season and chance at the state championship.
