Washington state primary important dates
Election officials will begin mailing ballots to registered voters around July 15.
The deadline to register online or via mail has passed. If you missed the July 4 deadline and are not currently registered to vote in the state of Washington, you can do so July 25 at your local county elections office.
The 2016 primary voting period ends Tuesday, Aug. 2.
Ballots must postmarked by that date or turned into a ballot drop box by 8 p.m. that day.
Maple Valley girl to compete at MLB All-Star week
Kaiea Higa, 12, from Maple Valley is one of 24 who will compete in the Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run baseball and softball skills competition.
Higa will be representing the Seattle Mariners on Monday, July 11 at Petco Park in San Diego, Calif.
On June 12, she won the Team Championships at Safeco Field for her age group.
According to a press release from the Seattle Mariners, when Higa’s scores were compared to the other softball competitors in the 11 to 12 year old division, she places among the top three finishers.
Tuesday ladies golf club results
More than 20 golfers participated in the Lake Wilderness Tuesday Ladies Golf Club Captain’s Cup Tournament on June 21 and 28.
The winner was Debbie Dubie, who’s two day combined score was low net 140.
Other winners were division I, Diane Clavin with low net 143 and division II Janice Train also with low net 143.
This week’s competition was Monthly Medals and Fun & Games.
