We are a society and community diverse in background, ideas, race, and culture. I believe when investments are made that project the vision for common good that we all share; we are at our best in setting policies and infrastructure. We are a community that values its children and building a foundation where all children have a chance to meet their best potential. Soon you will be receiving your elections ballots in the mail.
Kent School District Proposition 1 will be on the ballot and needs us to invest in this capital improvement measure to maintain this staying in place at its same level and allowing a list of improvements at all schools that are badly needed so our kids can continue to learn in smaller class sizes with updated equipment and improvements. This includes two brand new elementary schools.
As a senior, I am still looking for good investments. Supporting our kids is one that pays daily dividends, as my property value stays level and can go up. My neighborhood and community are better because our future community members are getting a quality education to re-invest their talents and knowledge back into society. The maintaining of my quality of life is secured and my dividends are going to continue.
Communities and societies that are maintained and stay thriving do not happen by accident, the members that make it up have strong vision for today and into the future with a shared purpose of being. On Nov. 8, let’s all be a part in taking that investment beyond the 60 percent threshold to get this implemented.
