Tahoma High senior Derek Eager brought home a national championship in the javelin event Sunday in Greensboro N.C.
Eager competed in USA National Junior Olympics Championship in the young men’s division.
The winning throw reached 182 feet, 1 inch.
Eager also finished 23rd in the 12 pound shot put with a throw of 43-11.25 and 19th in the discus event at 149-03.
Eager is entering his senior year at Tahoma. He finished sixth in the Javelin at the 4A state meet in May with a throw of 198-06 and 10th in the discus with 147-05.
