Faulty wiring causes house fire | Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety

Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety was dispatched to investigate a possible electrical fire at a residence at 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 7 in the 24200 block of 275th Avenue S.E. While enroute dispatchers updated the firefighters dark smoke was coming from the attic. Twenty firefighters from Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety, Mountain View Fire and Rescue and King County Fire District 47 responded to the residential fire.

Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety was dispatched to investigate a possible electrical fire at a residence at 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 7 in the 24200 block of 275th Avenue S.E.

While enroute dispatchers updated the firefighters dark smoke was coming from the attic. Twenty firefighters from Maple Valley Fire and Life Safety, Mountain View Fire and Rescue and King County Fire District 47 responded to the residential fire.

Firefighters removed a portion of the ceiling on the second floor to access the attic and the fire was quickly extinguished. Smoke detectors in the residence operated and all occupants safely evacuated. No injuries were reported. Damage is estimated at $45,000.

Faulty electrical wiring was determined to be the cause.
